Weekly Reflections #6

Reading: Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin; Holacracy by Brian J. Robertson; Buddhism, Plain and Simple by Steve Hagen

Watching: Still watching The Last of Us and Poker Face as they come out. The big headline is that our good friend Andrew Helms helped produce Stolen Youth: Inside the Cult at Sarah Lawrence, and we watched the first episode of that last night. It was excellent, excited to keep watching it.

Listening To: I’m really enjoying Heavy Heavy by Young Fathers. The comparison is probably too easy but it fits–this is the closest thing to young TV on the Radio out there. So what does that mean exactly? It’s a mix of the urgency in the music, raucous choruses, and that it doesn’t sound like other rock music being released today. There’s nothing in the instrumentation of the opening cut, Rice, for instance, that sounds like anything else being released right now. This album gets my recommendation, best listened to loud, in the car, with the windows down.

Playing: Hi-Fi Rush.

Habit Watch: 6 of 7 days exercised, 3 of 7 meditated.
