Favorite Books of 2022

This is a short list of my favorite books I read in 2022 (not necessarily released this year). I’ll add a short blurb if I have anything insightful to say about the book, but I’m not a literary critic and I struggled in all of my (3) college English courses so you can take everything here with a pebble of salt.

  1. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy by JRR Tolkien (re-read): I hadn’t read these since I was in middle school—turns out they’re even better than I remember. It’s like all the good stuff from Game of Thrones but actually well-written.
  2. Pachinko by Min Jin Lee
  3. Ask Again, Yes by Mary Beth Keane
  4. The Fifth Discipline by Peter Senge
  5. Life After Windows by Inez Ribustello
  6. Net Gains by Ryan O’Hanlon: A really good read during the world cup. I’d recommend for anyone interested in soccer who’s also curious about why soccer is played the way it is, and how you might analyze it statistically.
  7. Meet Me in the Bathroom by Lizzy Goodman
  8. Under the Whispering Door by T.J. Klune: Actually wrote about this here
  9. Metzger’s Dog by Thomas Perry
  10. The Nineties by Chuck Klosterman
