It occurs to me today that part of the reason these shifts were so difficult is that I was trying to make all of them at once. In the past, I was nudging each one along, one at a time usually, trying to see if it would work. Perhaps this is the approach I’ll take now. I’m not taking all of these off of the board, just trying to do one very well this week. The board:
- Writing
- Meditating
- Yoga or other workout
- Making a salad for lunch, eating it while not working
- Walking the dogs 2x
- Reading 1 hr
- Sleeping 8 hrs, waking up naturally
Doing the very scientific thing of staring at this list and picking the first habit on it. Writing it is! In all seriousness, when I write first thing, it makes me feel good about myself and sets me up for success for the rest of the day. So the commitment is to write every morning this week, even if it’s just a few words, even if I don’t share it. We’ll check in on it next week, and maybe commit to a second habit from the list!
