Reflections #5 Mondays, Cont’d

Until I can safely go have a croissant and latte at a coffee shop, my Monday routine includes my Monday Morning Playlist and making a list of what I’m looking forward to this week.

It was a pleasant surprise to notice that there was, when I sat down and thought about it, way more that I’m looking forward to this week than I originally thought. My default, when I wake up on Mondays, is definitely that there won’t be anything good until the weekend. Clearly, that’s not actually the case. What I like about making this list:

  1. The realization that there’s way more too look forward to than I originally thought.
  2. The realization that there’s something to look forward to in things that I just hadn’t really considered as things to look forward to (mostly work things that are actually pleasurable).
  3. There’s also some amount of assessment in this for me after—if I don’t have anything on Tuesday that I’m excited about, I can manufacture something.

What I’m looking Forward to this week:

  • Watching US Soccer Wednesday (this is really half excitement, half dread)
  • Catching up w/an old friend Friday
  • Re-learning a board game over the weekend
  • Listening Lab w/Bhavana
  • Playing Nobody Saves the World
  • Continuing to read the Fifth Discipline
  • Collaborating with new colleague
  • Learning Clickup
  • A day to do some planning
  • Starting to work out more (back is feeling much better)
  • New Animal Collective record Friday
